Mindfulness & Meditation — a science-informed approach
The mindfulness and meditation practices I teach are grounded in psychological science, neuroscience, and trauma-aware therapeutic principles.
This is not about emptying the mind or “staying positive”. It’s about learning how your nervous system works — and gently working with it rather than against it.
My approach draws on:
-
contemporary psychological models of attention, emotion regulation and behaviour
-
neuroscience research into the nervous system, stress response and neuroplasticity
-
mindfulness-based therapeutic frameworks used in clinical and mental-health settings
The practices I offer are practical, embodied and relational. They support you to:
-
regulate your nervous system
-
build emotional awareness and resilience
-
develop choice rather than reactivity
-
reconnect safely with your inner experience
Mindfulness here is used as a therapeutic skill, not a performance or spiritual bypass. Sessions are paced, trauma-aware, and adapted to each person — especially helpful if you’ve struggled with meditation in the past.
How meditation supports therapeutic healing
Mindfulness can help you:
-
regulate stress and overwhelm (especially when life feels too much)
-
create space between trigger and reaction in relationships
-
reduce looping thoughts and rumination
-
stay present with emotions without flooding or shutting down
-
reconnect to your body with more ease and trust
-
support sleep and recovery after intense periods
-
strengthen inner steadiness during change, grief, or uncertainty
Many clients describe it as building an inner “base” — so therapy goes deeper, and daily life feels less reactive.
How this fits with my wider work
Mindfulness and meditation are woven into my broader therapeutic work alongside subconscious belief work, somatic awareness and relational exploration.

A note if you’re nervous about meditation
You don’t need to be good at meditation to benefit from it. If your mind is busy, that’s not failure — that’s information. We work with what’s there, in a way that supports healing rather than judgement.
