Healing Emotional Patterns

A lot of us are walking around with old experiences still living in the body. Not always as clear memories — more like patterns: anxiety, overthinking, emotional reactivity, numbness, shutdown, feeling stuck, feeling “too much” or “not enough,” or a low-level sense of disconnection from yourself.

This work is about getting to the root of that, gently. I use QEC, somatic awareness, mindfulness, and sometimes Reiki (if it feels supportive) to help your system release what it’s been holding. We’re not just talking about your symptoms — we’re working with the subconscious beliefs and nervous system responses that create them.

If you’ve ever tried to think your way out of anxiety, you already know the problem: insight is useful, but it doesn’t always change how you feel. You can understand your triggers and still get triggered. You can know you’re safe and still feel on edge. That’s because emotional patterns don’t live in the “logic” part of your brain — they live in the body and the subconscious. This is why willpower and positive thinking only get you so far.

In sessions we start with what’s real for you right now — the anxiety, the grief, the shutdown, the loop you can’t seem to break. We do some careful inquiry to find what’s underneath: the belief, the fear, the protective response, the part of you that learned “this is how I survive.” Then we use QEC to shift it at the subconscious level, so your nervous system doesn’t have to keep running the same old programme.

This can be a good fit if you’re carrying grief or loss that hasn’t moved, if you feel emotionally overwhelmed or emotionally flat, if you’re stuck in stress/burnout mode, if shame or self-criticism is loud, if you’re tired of “holding it together,” or if you want trauma work that doesn’t require you to relive everything in detail.

We can work with anxiety and hypervigilance, overwhelm, chronic stress, freeze/fawn responses, numbness, shame, emotional reactivity, grief that feels stuck, and those old trauma patterns where the past keeps showing up in the present.

What you can expect afterwards isn’t a permanent bliss state. It’s more grounded than that: the charge drops. The trigger is still there, but it doesn’t land the same way. You feel calmer in your body. You can think more clearly. You stop spiralling as fast. The inner critic softens. And over time, you feel more like yourself again.

Sessions are 1.5 hours, online or in person. We go at the pace your nervous system can handle. You don’t have to “perform” your trauma, and you don’t have to have the perfect words. If you want to explore whether this is the right kind of support, we can start with a conversation.

Let's explore whether this work is right for you. In our call, we'll discuss what you're struggling with, how QEC and somatic healing can help, and whether we're a good fit to work together.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from regular therapy?
Traditional therapy often focuses on understanding your patterns and developing coping skills. This work addresses the subconscious beliefs and nervous system responses that create your patterns. We're healing at the root level, not just managing symptoms.

Do I have to talk about traumatic experiences?
No. QEC can work with trauma without you needing to recount painful details. We work with the beliefs and patterns that formed as a result of those experiences, not the stories themselves.

What if I don't know what my patterns are?
You don't need to have it all figured out. Through gentle inquiry, we'll discover what's operating beneath the surface. Most people are surprised by what we uncover.

How quickly will I feel different?
Most clients notice shifts within the first few sessions—sometimes immediately. Because we work at the subconscious and nervous system level, change happens faster than with talk therapy alone.

Is this safe if I'm currently in crisis?
This work is powerful but gentle. However, if you're in acute crisis, please reach out to emergency services or a crisis hotline first. Once you're stable, this work can help prevent future crises by healing the underlying patterns.

Can I do this work alongside therapy or medication?
Absolutely. This work complements other forms of support. Many clients work with me while also seeing a therapist or psychiatrist.
